About QIFModel

A fast, modern, standards‑compliant QIF viewer built for engineers, metrology professionals, and digital manufacturing teams.

What is QIFModel?

QIFModel is a lightweight, browser‑based viewer for QIF (Quality Information Framework) files. It allows engineers to explore product definitions, GD&T, characteristics, features, and relationships without installing software or uploading sensitive data.

The viewer runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly, providing a fast and secure way to inspect QIF documents on any device.

Our Mission

Digital manufacturing depends on clear, interoperable data. QIF is a powerful standard, but its XML‑based structure can be difficult to navigate without specialized tools.

QIFModel aims to make QIF data accessible, understandable, and usable for everyone — from metrology engineers to software developers integrating QIF into their workflows.

Who It’s For

QIFModel is designed for professionals working across the digital manufacturing ecosystem:

  • Metrology engineers analyzing measurement plans and results
  • Manufacturing engineers reviewing product definitions and tolerances
  • Software developers integrating QIF into C# or C++ applications
  • Quality teams validating QIF data from suppliers
  • Educators and students learning the QIF standard

Technology

QIFModel is built on modern, open technologies:

  • WebAssembly (WASM) for fast, local execution
  • Blazor for a clean, modular UI
  • Bootstrap 5 for responsive, accessible design
  • QIFModel Library — a high‑performance C# library for parsing QIF files

This architecture ensures performance, security, and long‑term maintainability.

Roadmap

QIFModel is actively evolving. Upcoming improvements include:

  • Enhanced model navigation and search
  • Interactive GD&T visualization
  • Expanded documentation and learning resources
  • API and SDK improvements for C# and C++ integrations
  • Optional microservice deployment for enterprise environments

Our long‑term goal is to make QIFModel the most trusted, widely used tool for exploring and validating QIF data.
